Mastic Beach Man Found With Child Pornography, Assault Rifles: Police

He was arrested following a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program, police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — A Mastic Beach man was arrested after being found with child pornography and assault rifles, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, Brian Tilts, 69, of Cranberry Drive was arrested on Friday at 7:06 a.m.

Following a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program, digital forensic unit detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Cranberry Drive, and arrested Tilts, police said.

Detectives seized four assault rifles and seven high-capacity magazines, police said.

Tilt was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child, promoting a sexual performance by a child, four counts of third-degree criminal possession of an assault weapon and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Tilts will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
