Suffolk Man Nabbed For Attempted Robbery: Police
M&T Bank was nearly robbed on Tuesday, Suffolk cops say.
MASTIC BEACH, NY — A Mastic Beach man has been charged with attempted robbery in connection with a bank robbery in Coram on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Police said a man went inside M&T Bank on Route 112, just before 5 p.m., and handed a teller a note demanding cash, but the teller refused and he bolted.
Jonathan Buchanan, 37, was charged with third-degree attempted robbery, a felony, and is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Major Case Unit detectives at 631-852-6553 or Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline, at 1-800-220-TIPS.
All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
