Mastic Bull On Run Spurs National Media Attention, Tons Of Memes

The 1,500-pounder is "Long Island's Most Wanted," has been identified as missing on a mock milk carton, and feted for being "on the run."

MASTIC, NY — The ‘Mastic Bull’ broke free from a slaughterhouse, escaping from certain death on Tuesday morning.

The 1,500-pound animal evaded captors looking to whisk it away to a sanctuary, hiding for three days, spurning the comely charms of the Marilyn Monroe of Cows, “Norma Jean.”

The bull remains on the run.

But in the meantime, he has made quite a bit of a fuss on the internet, rousing national attention from media outlets, and inspiring some hilarious memes on Facebook while on the lam from captivity.

The bull’s evasion of authorities has also caught the eye of Inside Edition, which ran a segment yesterday. In the broadcast story, anthrozoologist John DiLeonardi is quizzed on the efforts to lure the bull to safety.

Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon’s office even joined in the fun, but warned residents not to go near the animal.

There are also several Twitter accounts dedicated to the bull’s escape to freedom. One of them is @MasticBull. Its motto is “looking for heifers and f——— up yo grass” and it takes a definite political stance at #bulllivesmatter. Another account is Long Island Bull on the Run!
