Hit And Run Driver Wanted: Suffolk Police

A driver hit and seriously injured a man in Mastic earlier in March, police say.

MASTIC, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the driver who police said injured a pedestrian in a Mastic hit-and-run earlier in March.

A 28-year-old Mastic man was walking on Mastic Road, just north of Cumberland Street, when he was hit by a car that drove off around 1:30 a.m. March 13, police said. The pedestrian was airlifted to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The car was described as a dark-colored sedan with possible damage to the front passenger side and front lights, police said.

A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
