He was driving with his 8-year-old son after the child's early morning soccer game, police say.
MASTIC, NY — A Mastic man was charged with driving drunk with his 8-year-old son as they came back from the boy's early morning soccer game, police said.
On Saturday at 11:24 a.m. Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs arrested Daniel Styles, 49, and charged him with driving while intoxicated, Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon said in a release.
Styles was pulled over on Sunrise Highway near Exit 50 and failed a field sobriety test; he was subsequently arrested and charged with violating the Child Passenger Protection Act, or Leandra’s Law, when it was discovered that he was driving while intoxicated with his son in the backseat, Toulon's office said.
