Motorcyclist Dies After Bike Crashes Into Multiple Trees In Middle Island: Police

He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, police say.

MIDDLE ISLAND, NY —A man died on Tuesday after his motorcycle crashed into multiple trees in Middle Island on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.

At around 7 p.m., Cyle Ashby was riding a 2020 Vande Excelsior motorcycle southbound on Ashton Road when he lost control of the motorcycle, and it left the roadway near Sylvia Lane, striking multiple trees, according to police.

Ashby, 53, of Medford, was taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, police said, adding that the motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives from the 6th Squad in Selden are investigating, police said.
