Mt. Sinai Man Suffering Medical Emergency Rescued After Crashing Vehicle Into A Utility Pole In Mastic: PD

He was taken by local ambulance to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk for evaluation, Suffolk police say.

MASTIC, NY — A Mount Sinai man suffering a medical emergency crashed his vehicle into a utility pole in Mastic on Tuesday, Suffolk police said.

Patrol officers were called to the scene on Mastic Road, near Somerset Avenue, at around 6:15 p.m., according to police.

The man was taken by local ambulance to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk for evaluation, police said.

The utility pole was not damaged.

A passerby, who claimed to witness the crash, posted a video claimed to be of the incident, showing an officer racing to see where the man was to pull him from the vehicle, which was steaming.
