Northwell Health Opens New Medical Facility in Shirley
New Multi-Specialty Medical Facility Will Bring Advanced, High-Quality Care to the Shirley Community
Northwell Health and Peconic Bay Medical Center officially celebrated the opening of its newest medical facility in Shirley, which is now accepting patients. The Shirley medical campus, located at 855 Montauk Highway, features several specialty practices that are sparsely available in the region, including orthopedics, cardiology, vascular surgery, and urology. The Shirley facility also offers family medicine and immediate care. Opening a location in Shirley is part of Northwell Health’s and Peconic Bay Medical Center’s shared ongoing mission to increase access to medical care throughout eastern Suffolk County and make high-quality treatment closer to home.
“Peconic Bay Medical Center is thrilled to be a part of making life-saving medical treatment more available, accessible, and convenient,” said Dr. Amy E. Loeb, Executive Director of Peconic Bay Medical Center. “No one should have to compromise healthcare for quality of life. With the opening of this new facility, residents of Shirley will no longer have to travel long distances to receive needed medical care.”
The opening of the facility was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was attended by local elected officials and community advocacy groups that represent the Shirley region. The event featured comments from Amy Loeb, Steve Bello, Executive Director of Northwell Health’s Eastern Region, Brian McNulty, primary care physician at the Shirley medical campus, Gregson H. Pigott, Suffolk County Health Commissioner, Joe DeStefano, New York State Assemblyman and Beth Wahl, President of the Shirley Mastic Chamber of Commerce.

“This expansion of the high-quality healthcare that Northwell Health provides will benefit Shirley residents for generations to come,” said Bello. “The new facility will ensure that members of the Shirley community can access medical care whenever they need it without traveling long distances. We thank our community partners and benefactors who made this possible, and we are excited for the future here in Suffolk County.”
The Shirley medical facility will be complemented by the health system’s nearby Center Moriches site. The Center Moriches site, which is currently under renovation, will double in size and reopen in the fall. It offers primary care services and is soon adding general surgery and colorectal surgery providers. PBMC also operates in Manorville and Shoreham and is driven to continue working toward providing for the unmet health care needs of those living along the William Floyd corridor. The Shirley facility joins Northwell’s east end network of over 22 ambulatory locations within 16 hamlets throughout eastern Suffolk County on both the North and South Forks.
