Pedestrian Dies After Vehicle Strike In Suffolk: Police
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by an EMT from Shirley Community Ambulance, police said.
SHIRLEY, NY - A Shirley man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Shirley on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.
A 53-year-old man was driving a 2016 Subaru eastbound in the travel lane of Montauk Highway, west of Camp Upton Road, when the vehicle struck Paul Moran, who was traveling on foot southbound across Montauk Highway, at around 8:39 p.m., according to police.
Moran, 57, of Shirley, was pronounced dead at the scene by an Emergency Medical Technician with Shirley Community Ambulance.

The Suburu's driver was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
