Pedestrian Killed In Crash That Closed William Floyd: Cops

Police have identified the man killed in the crash.

SHIRLEY, NY — A pedestrian was killed in a crash Wednesday night that left the William Floyd Parkway closed in both directions, police said.

Jordon Hubbard, 25, of Shirley, died in the crash, which happened at 8:15 p.m. on the William Floyd Parkway, police said.

A 22-year-old Shirley man was driving a 2018 Hyundai sedan south on the parkway, on the Sunrise Highway overpass, when his vehicle struck Hubbard on the roadway, police said. Hubbard was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was declared dead. The driver was not hurt, police said.

The Hyundai was impounded for a safety check; detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752, police said.
