Pedestrian Struck In Shirley Dies From Injuries Sustained In Crash: Police
She was airlifted with serious injuries after the crash and later died, police say.
SHIRLEY, NY — A pedestrian who was struck in Shirley recently has died, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, Theresa Nicke, 64, of Shirley, died from injuries sustained in the June 20 crash on the right shoulder of Dawn Drive, near Pinelawn Avenue, at 7:30 a.m.
Nicke was walking on the right shoulder of Dawn Drive when she was struck by an eastbound 2013 Buick Regal, police said.

She was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries and later died, police said.
The driver of the Buick, a 23-year-old from Shirley, was uninjured, police said.

The Buick was impounded for a safety check, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
