Person Jumps From Overpass Onto LIRR Tracks On Easter

The person survived and was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to an MTA LIRR representative.

LONG ISLAND, NY — An individual jumped from an overpass onto the Long Island Rail Road tracks on Easter Sunday, according to a representative for the MTA.

The person jumped around 12:46 p.m. east of Yaphank and was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, the MTA representative said.

Sources at the scene said it was a man who had jumped but the MTA did not confirm that information. No further information was immediately available.
