"These animals need veterinary care and a good home."

LONG ISLAND, NY — After the owner of five animals — including three cats, a dog, and a parrot —was hospitalized indefinitely with a serious health issue, the pets are in desperate need of homes and care

According to the Suffolk County SPCA, the owner made every attempt to place the animals before the ambulance arrived. "Unfortunately, no one offered him help. Frantically, he contacted the Suffolk County SPCA. Two of our officers arrived with much needed food and supplies to care for these poor innocent animals."

The animals need veterinary care and a loving home, the SPCA said. "Please find it in your heart to provide a monetary donation for the care or open your home to one of these defenseless animals," the organization added.
