Police Investigating Smashed Windows, Glass Door At Pizzeria In Mastic Beach

It happened early Monday morning, Suffolk police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — Suffolk County Police are investigating an incident in which they say windows were smashed at Anthony's Pizzeria in Mastic Beach early on Monday morning.

Multiple windows were broken, and damage was done to glass doors at the Mastic Road pizzeria at around 12:45 a.m., according to police.

The pizzeria was boarded up, pending repairs, but has since reopened for business.

The pizzeria's owner, Anthony, was back answering the phone and taking orders on Tuesday night.

He told Patch that he is "disgusted" by the incident and it has left "a bad taste in his mouth."

The vandalism has left the students of nearby William Floyd High School "distraught" over what happened to their after-school hangout, he said.

"Between 1:30 and 3 p.m., you can't get a seat in here," he added.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Detectives from the 7th Precinct in Shirley are investigating.
