Protesters Take To The Streets In Shirley For 3rd Night

About 150 protesters took to the streets of Shirley for the third night in a row to cry out against the killing of George Floyd.

SHIRLEY, NY – Chanting "Shut it down," "I don't see a riot," "Black lives matter," "What do we want? Justice?" and "I can't breathe; remove your knee," a crowd once again filled Shirley streets for the third night in a row to protest the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Suffolk County Police said as of 9 p.m., about 150 people were protesting, with road closures in the areas of Sunrise Highway, Montauk Highway and William Floyd Parkway.

A video shot earlier in the evening Wednesday showed the group observing nine minutes of silence in honor of Floyd, whose last moments were captured in a video as he begged for help, said he couldn't breathe, and cried out for his mama.
