Search On For Sneaker Thieves: Cops

SHIRLEY, NY — The search is on for two men who stole sneakers from a Shirley store in June, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers are asking for the public's help to identify and locate the men who stole a pair of sneakers each from Famous Footwear, located at 999 Montauk Highway, on June 29, police said.

One man was wearing a red shirt, the other was wearing a black and white striped shirt and black stocking cap, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the incidents can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, texting “SCPD” and a message to “CRIMES” (274637) or emailing www.tipsubmit.com. All calls, text messages and emails will be kept confidential.
