Visitation Set For William Floyd High School Junior Who District Officials Say Died In Medical Incident
The Roma Funeral Home in Shirley is hosting visitation on Sunday.
SHIRLEY, NY — A visitation service has been set for the William Floyd High School junior who district officials said tragically died in a medical incident, according to the Roma Funeral Home's in Shirley's website.
It will be held on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In a message to the school district community, officials said it was "with heavy hearts" that they shared news that Hajir Barthelemy "passed away due to a medical incident."

"The loss of a student is always a tragedy, one that deeply affects family, friends, and the entire school community," officials said.
Crisis and grief counselors are available for students who are struggling with the news, according to the district.

District officials said they reached out to the teen's family to express their "condolences and to offer any support that they may need during this difficult time."
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones as they deal with this tragedy," the message concluded.
School officials did not comment any further.
Patch has reached out to Barthelemy's family.
Tributes poured in after the district's post as many community members expressed shock and grief.
"Prayers for the family and the district," wrote one man.
"My heart goes out to the entire family," wrote one woman, adding, "Rest in peace sweet boy."
Yet another wrote, "Sending love and prayers to Hajir's family. May he rest in the arms of the angels."
The Roma Funeral Home is located at 539 William Floyd Parkway, Shirley.
