Suffolk Home Fire Breaks Out, Drawing Firefighters From 5 Different Fire Departments

No one was injured, Suffolk police said.

SHIRLEY, NY — Area firefighters from five different departments were called to the scene of a porch fire in Shirley on Sunday night, the Brookhaven Fire Department said.

The fire broke out at a home on Lama Drive, near Propose Road, around 6:30 p.m., fire department officials said in a Facebook post.

Brookhaven's first chief "found the front of the house involved in flames and quickly requested dispatch to reactivate for the working fire and start mutual aid to the scene," fire department officials said.

It does not appear there were any injuries in the fire.

In addition to Brookhaven, Mastic, Mastic Beach, Yaphank, and the Center Moriches fire departments responded, as well as Shirley Community Ambulance.

Arson Squad detectives were called to investigate, police said.
