- Christopher Clarke, 34, was arrested for stabbing his 80-year- old grandfather in Shirley. The crime happened at the victim's home on Hounslow Road. Clarke will have a court hearing on Friday, June 17. (Newsday/Subscription Required)

- Nearby News: A teen mistook the brakes for the gas pedal and drove into Patchogue Bay. The incident happened on Tuesday night at the parking lot around 10 p.m. Anthony Zhongor, 18, helped the driver out of the car to safety. No injuries were reported. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
