SHIRLEY, NY — The outer beach at Smith Point County Park could be closed the next few days due to high tides, the Suffolk County Parks Department announced in a post to Twitter on Friday.
Parks department officials closed the beach Friday morning, but then reopened it back up when the water receded at around 1 p.m. Residents can expect similar closures in the morning hours over the next few days, according to the department.
