SpringFest 2026 to Transform Moriches Branch into a Hub of Seasonal Celebration
A Saturday, May 9 family-friendly celebration of the season featuring hands-on activities, local vendors, and community partners.

MORICHES, NY — The Mastic-Moriches-Shirley Community Library will welcome the community to SpringFest 2026, a family-friendly celebration of the season featuring hands-on activities, local vendors, and community partners, on Saturday, May 9, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at its Moriches Branch, located at 201 Montauk Highway.
Designed for all ages, SpringFest will offer a wide range of interactive experiences, including crafts, lawn games, a scavenger hunt, and creative stations such as tin can planters, pine cone bird feeders, and spring bonnet decorating, culminating in a bonnet parade at 3:00 p.m. Additional highlights include air-powered rocket demonstrations, a plant swap, green screen photo opportunities, and a community banner project.
“The goal of SpringFest is to create a welcoming, engaging space where families can come together to celebrate the season and enjoy a variety of hands-on activities,” said Kerrilynn Jorgensen, Branch Manager of the Moriches Branch. “There’s truly something for everyone, and we’re especially excited to see the creativity and enthusiasm that the community brings to the event.”

A variety of local vendors will be on site offering food, crafts, and artisan goods.
“Events like SpringFest reflect how the library brings people together in meaningful ways, not just through programs, but through shared experiences that connect neighbors, families, and community partners,” said Lonna Castro, Library Director. “It’s a great opportunity to highlight everything the library has to offer in a fun, accessible setting.”
