In addition to setting the school record for triple jump, she began the season as the No. 1 ranked triple jumper in Suffolk County and was named one of the “Top 25 Girls’ Indoor Track Athletes to Watch” for 2018 to 2019 by Newsday, the district added.

She has earned numerous accolades throughout her high school career including All-County, All-Long Island and All-State as a junior and secured a third-place finish in the triple jump at last year’s state championship — she was also part of the record-setting 4 x 200 meter relay team along with Kianna Hawkins, Antoinette Miller and Jade Foster, that won the state crown last March.

"Best of luck to Kaylah as she goes for the state title in the triple jump!" the district said.
