SHIRLEY, NY — A 2019 Nissan Sentra stolen from a 7-Eleven in East Patchogue flipped over on the Sunrise Highway Service Road in Shirley on Saturday night, and the driver is still on the lam, Suffolk cops say.
Cops say the sedan overturned in the eastbound lane of the Sunrise Service road ramp at Exit 58 just before 11 p.m. The driver fled the scene prior to first responders' arrival, Suffolk's Public Information Bureau said. The sedan had been reported stolen from the parking lot of 7-Eleven on Hospital Road, "a short time earlier," according to a spokeswoman for the bureau.
The theft is being investigated by 5th Squad detectives, she said.
