Student Charged With Bringing Loaded Gun To Mastic Beach School
Suffolk County police said the incident happened Friday afternoon at William Floyd High School.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — A 14-year-old boy is facing charges after police said he brought a loaded gun to a Mastic Beach high school.
According to Suffolk County police, the incident happened Friday afternoon at William Floyd High School, located at 240 Mastic Beach Rd. Police said the teen was being interviewed by a school administrator on an unrelated matter when they discovered the student had a loaded gun in his possession.
School officials contacted police, who took the boy into custody and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon and possessing a weapon on school grounds.

Police did not release the boy's name due to his age.
The teen spent Friday night in police custody and was arraigned as a juvenile offender in District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
