Suffolk Exec Orders Campgrounds Closed Ahead Of Impending Nor-Easter

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – Beachfront camping and outer beach driving at Suffolk's parks are to be suspended Thursday evening until Sunday, pending reevaluation due to the impending nor-easter, County Executive Ed Romaine said.

Tent camping and campfires are to be suspended on Friday evening until Sunday evening, pending reevaluation.

Hard-sided campers and RVs are permitted on a site-by-site basis. Campers are advised to take every precaution possible, planning for heavy rainfall and strong, sustained winds.

The move was part of the implementation of safety measures throughout the county Parks system starting the evening of Thursday, September 24 to be reevaluated on Sunday, September 27.
