  1. The state approved the construction plan of an offshore wind Farm on Long Island. The project features over 100 turbines that will form the Sunrise Wind.   2. According to the Woodbourne Correctional Facility records, convicted killer Matthew Svanberg has been eligible for parole. Svanberg served 22 years in prison for the murder of Dennis Folk of Ridge, a 26-year-old clerk at Getty Gas Station in 1993. Members of Folk's family are asking the community to sign a petition on change.org to avoid Matthew's release. (Patch)
  3. Students Musicians of William Floyd school district have been recognized for their talents and dedication to the world of arts and awarded a significant nomination by the State. Visit the link provided to learn about all students who earned Top Accolades. (Patch)
  4. Starbucks workers protested for better wages and fixed schedules. Over 100 coffee stores went on strike on Thursday. In some spots, workers give out red cups with the Union logo instead of the traditional holiday cup designed yearly by the company. (LI News12)

Attendees will watch the decorated crafts sailing on the river from the heated deck of the Davis Park Ferry Terminal at 5 p.m. Hot chocolate and pretzels will be available.
