Suspect Flees, Leads Cops On Chase: Police
The suspect, driving a BMW, led police on a pursuit, authorities say.

SHIRLEY, NY — A wanted man led police on a heated pursuit Wednesday, police said.
According to a Suffolk County Police spokesperson, Suffolk County Police Firearms Suppression Team officers responded to a residence on Flower Hill Road in Shirley at 11:15 a.m. after they received information that a man, who is wanted for warrants and other charges, was at that location.

Before officers reached the residence, the man fled in a BMW, police said.

A description of the vehicle was broadcast over the police radio and a Seventh Precinct officer observed the vehicle a short time later on Route 25 in Middle Island, police said.
The officer attempted to pull over the vehicle but the driver fled from the officer, who initiated a pursuit, police said.

SCPD officers from the canine section, aviation section, emergency service section and the Fourth, Fifth and Seventh Precincts searched for the man, who was arrested at approximately 11:45 a.m. after aviation officers located his vehicle parked outside a home on Chestnut Avenue in Ronkonkoma, police said.
