Trailers Damaged In Fire On Commercial Property In Mastic: Police
Suffolk's Arson Squad responded to Sunrise Highway Service Road, near Stuyvesant Avenue, at about 5:3o p.m., cops say.
MASTIC, NY — Suffolk County police Arson Squad detectives are investigating a fire that broke out at a commercial property in Mastic on Saturday afternoon, a police spokeswoman said.
Officers were called to a location on Sunrise Highway Service Road, near Stuyvesant Avenue, at about 5:3o p.m. "and several trailers being stored on the property" had been damaged in the fire, police said.
No one was injured, according to police.

Mastic Fire Department officials said firefighters were notified "of a smoke condition" and found "an active fire in a 53-foot trailer being used for storage."
"The fire completely destroyed one trailer and also caused a small brush fire adjacent to it," department officials wrote on Facebook. "This property has numerous trailers in close proximity to each other. Due to this condition, mutual aid agencies were brought in to assist in case of exposure to adjacent trailers."

The fire was "quickly extinguished" and the scene was left for Brookhaven Town's fire marshals and police to investigate.
