Truck Fully Engulfed In Flames On Sunrise Highway
Although the truck went up in raging flames, no injuries were reported.

SHIRLEY, NY — A truck was fully engulfed in flames on Sunrise Highway Tuesday morning, police said.
Suffolk County Police responded to a truck on fire at 5:20 a.m., authorities said. A man was driving a work van eastbound on Sunrise Highway, just east of Exit 58, when he noticed smoke coming from the vehicle; the van was fully engulfed when the police department arrived on scene, police said.
Eastbound Sunrise Highway was closed immediately after the fire, police said.

According to witnesses at the scene, the Mastic Fire Department responded and Brookhaven Fire Dept. responded on mutual aid.
The truck, which was reportedly carrying linens, went up in flames, which caused the vehicle's diesel fuel tanks to rupture, spilling fuel onto the roadway and grassy shoulder, witnesses said.
