Vote For Favorite Teacher To Win Cruise, District To Win $15K
Have you voted yet for William Floyd math teacher Robert Woods? Here's how.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — A vote for a beloved William Floyd High School teacher to win a cruise could mean $15,000 for the school district.
Norwegian Cruise Line's "Giving Joy" campaign is meant to recognize educators who do so much for students and the community. To celebrate Norwegian Joy’s upcoming debut in North America, Norwegian Cruise Line is giving a seven-day cruise for two to 15 amazing teachers in the U.S. and Canada — "15 Teachers, 15 Gifts Of Joy," the contest said.
"Between March 12 and April 12, we want you to take part in the Giving Joy campaign by nominating and voting for your favorite teachers in the United States and Canada. Submit a photo of them with a short essay that shows everything they do to spread the love of learning. If you're an educator, feel free to nominate yourself! Each nominee will have the chance to win one of 15 seven-day cruises for two of their choice. The lucky winners will also receive airfare and accommodations so they can attend a ceremony in Seattle where one of the teachers will be awarded $15,000 for their school," Norwegian Cruise Lines said.

Robert Woods has been nominated and students and others in the William Floyd district are thrilled: "Mr. Woods is a young dynamic, energetic William Floyd math teacher who always welcomes each and every student with a smile on his face," his voting page says. "He makes learning math fun while engaging his students in a manner which parents and students haven't experienced before. His use of current strategies in conjunction with technology encourages students to do their best. Mr. Woods continuously reaches out to students and parents several times a week via remind with hope that they will review the math lessons and attached videos. This is done for current homework as well as future lessons. He is always positive, patient and enthusiastic regardless of how many times a student asks him to explain a mathematical concept. He is the absolute BEST math teacher and for his tireless effort he is most deserving of a free cruise!"
Woods currently has 165 votes.
