WF Teachers Help Fight Cancer through 'No Shave November'

Altogether, the teachers raised $1,067 to benefit the Prevent Cancer Foundation and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

From William Floyd School District: Several William Floyd teachers participated in “No Shave November,” a month-long journey during which participants give up shaving as a way to raise awareness and provide support in the fight against cancer. Altogether, the teachers raised $1,067 to benefit the Prevent Cancer Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Then on December 1, three William Floyd High School teachers visited William Floyd High School cosmetology students to get their beards shaved or trimmed.


This year’s participants include Matthew VanHorne, Paul Vassallo, Joseph Carpinone, Will Maldonado, Tony Mecca, Joe Sidaras, Andrew Demasi, Neal Heaton, Joe Scuderi and Chris Tavolaro.

William Floyd High School cosmetology students assisted teachers by shaving or trimming their beards at the conclusion of “No Shave November.”
