New offerings for the upcoming 2022-23 school year include the AP Capstone program, which provides students with the opportunity to develop academic skills that will help them to stand out in the college admissions process by developing the critical-thinking skills needed to be successful in college and future careers. AP Capstone promotes lifelong-learning skills needed for college and beyond, and complements the in-depth subject-matter study in AP.

Additionally, the high school’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is thriving and in full swing offering eight CTE program academies in a variety of interest areas, as well as five CTE Pathways in business and technology. Graduation pathways include Accounting, Architecture, Business Management, Engineering, and Microsoft Office Specialist.

Students also have the opportunity for dual-enrollment programs enabling students to earn college credits while still in high school, getting a leg-up on their post-secondary education and saving money in the process. Partnering colleges and universities include Suffolk County Community College, Farmingdale State College and St. John’s University.

William Floyd High School also offers a robust catalog of courses spanning art, business, computer science, English, health, mathematics, music, naval science, physical education, science, social studies, technology and world languages!
