William Floyd Student-Musicians Selected For NYSBDA Honor Bands
Eight students were chosen based on their outstanding NYSSMA solo scores and upon director recommendation.

Eight William Floyd student-musicians from William Paca Middle School, William Floyd Middle School and William Floyd High School, recently had the opportunity to represent their school and district in the 2022 New York State Band Directors Association (NYSBDA) All-State Honor Band Festival this past weekend in Syracuse, NY. These talented students were selected based on their outstanding NYSSMA solo scores and upon director recommendation. Additionally, four William Floyd High School students were selected as alternates.

The NYSBDA Honor Band selections are as follows:
William Paca Middle School: Joseph Cordaro, director; Kolton Chamberlain, tuba, 8th grade; and Jackson Seifert, trombone, 8th grade.

William Floyd Middle School: Dawn Conefry, director;Jack Meyer, trumpet, 8th grade; Becky Neikens, flute, 7th grade; and Colin Smith, trumpet, 8th grade.
William Floyd High School: Garry Helbock, director: Kurtis Chamberlain, percussion, 12th grade; Justin Cooke, euphonium, 12th grade; and Ian Hua, flute, 12th grade.
The NYSBDA Honor Band alternates are as follows:
William Floyd High School: Garry Helbock and Kim Hyland, directors; Kassidy Chamberlain, piccolo and flute, 10th grade; Joshua Crespo, baritone saxophone, 9th grade; Thomas Francis, baritone saxophone, 12th grade; and Christina Girardi, bassoon, 12th grade.
