Woman Found Dead On Beach At Smith Point County Park: Cops

SHIRLEY, NY — A woman was found dead on the beach at Smith Point County Park on Thursday, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, homicide squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the woman, who was found at 9:50 a.m.

The woman’s body was transported to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death, police said.

Detectives believe the death is non-criminal, police said.

The woman’s identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
