1 Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into Pole

The telephone pole was cracked in half after a car crashed into it on Sunday night.

SMITHTOWN, NY - One person was hospitalized and a pole was knocked down after a car crash in Smithtown on Sunday night, according to the Smithtown Fire Department.

The car crashed into the pole on Terry Road and East Main Street at about 8:54 p.m.

Firefighters secured the scene and the transported one person with minor injuries to Stony Brook University Hospital via ambulance.

The road was closed for an undetermined amount of time while utility crews repaired the telephone pole which was cracked in half.
