1 Hospitalized After Crashing Into Pole On Christmas: FD
The crash also caused the pole and a tree to catch on fire.

ST. JAMES, NY - One person was hospitalized after crashing into a pole in St. James on Christmas night, according to the St. James Fire Department.
The crash was reported at about 8:48 p.m. on Moriches Road between Fairfield Drive and Von Hagen Avenue.
The car struck the pole causing it and a nearby tree to catch on fire. In addition fluids leaked on the roadway.

One person was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with minor injuries.
The power was out in the area all for several hours as PSEG repaired the pole and broken wires.
