100 Things to Do in Smithtown: #80 - Take a Trip to Short Beach

Get your sunscreen and towel ready – it's the perfect time to visit one of Smithtown's warmest, sunniest attractions – Short Beach.

Short Beach, a companion of Long Beach, is located in Nissequogue and is a beautiful place to go boating and kayaking, camping, fishing, picnicking, swimming and just walking along the shoreline.

Some of the beach’s features include a boat ramp, food stand, picnic area and playground, to name a few.

According to the Town of Smithtown website, camping is available to residents over the age of 21 on weekends. The permit is for up to 10 people and must be applied for in person at the Smithtown Department Parks, located at 100 Route 25A in Kings Park. The fee is $20 per night.
