2 Brothers Robbed Suffolk Gas Station: Police
One brother displayed what appeared to be a handgun while the other forced the clerk to open the register, police say.

LAKE GROVE, NY — Two Centereach brothers were arrested in connection with robbing a Lake Grove gas station on Thursday night, Suffolk police said.
Matthew and William Tait entered QuickChek, at 2686 Middle Country Road, around 11:35 p.m., police said. Matthew, 26, displayed what appeared to be a handgun while William, 27, went behind the counter and forced the clerk to open the register, police said. The two men stole cash, cigarettes and assorted merchandise, and then they ran away, police said.
The brothers were found in Centereach, and a gun and proceeds from the robbery were recovered, police said.

The brothers were each charged with first-degree robbery. They were scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
