2 Credit Cards Stolen In Lake Grove In 2-Week Span: Police

A woman's wallet was stolen at Trader Joe's, while a man's credit card was stolen at Auntie Anne's less than two weeks later, police say.

LAKE GROVE, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the people who police said stole credit cards in Lake Grove in April. The thefts happened less than two weeks apart, police said.

A woman’s wallet was stolen from a shopping cart at Trader Joe’s in Lake Grove on April 14, police said. A man tried to use one of the credit cards in Walmart in Centereach a short time later, police said.

A man reported his credit card was stolen at Auntie Anne’s, in the Smith Haven Mall, on April 26 at approximately 1:30 p.m., police said. The card was used later that day at the Cheesecake Factory, located in the Smith Haven Mall, at approximately 1:55 p.m., and later at Bambu, at 2350 Nesconset Highway, Stony Brook, at 2:15 p.m., police said.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
