2018 Election Preview: New York's 8th Assembly District

LONG ISLAND, NY - The 2018 midterm elections are quickly approaching and New York voters have several important decisions to make

Long Island residents will get a chance to vote for the representative of New York's Eight Assembly District this Election Day.

Here's what you need to know before heading out to the polls this November:

Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 6

Polling Times: Polls will open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Candidates: Incumbent Michael Fitzpatrick (R) will be challenged by Dave Morrissey (D).

District: The eight Assembly District of New York includes the whole Town of Smithtown and northern parts of the Town of Islip, including the Islip portion of Hauppauge and part of the village of Islandia.
