3 Men Assaulted In Smithtown: Police

Seven males attacked the three men with a baseball bat, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Three men were assaulted in Smithtown on Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.

Three men were walking on West Main Street when a vehicle stopped around 4:25 a.m. Sunday, police said. Seven males got out of the vehicle and attacked the three men with a baseball bat in the parking lot at 264 West Main St., police said.

During the assault, one of the three victims grabbed baseball bat and smashed a window of the vehicle, breaking it, police said. The seven males then got back into the vehicle and drove away, police said.

The three men were treated for their injuries at local hospitals, police said. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8451 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
