3 People Assaulted Smithtown Gas Clerk: Police

The gas station employee was hit over the head with a gas nozzle and shoved, police say. Two men and a woman are wanted for assault.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the three people who police said assaulted a Smithtown gas station employee in April.

A man was pumping gas into a gray BMW at Pit Stop Services Station, at 231 Jericho Turnpike, around 8 p.m. April 19, police said. The man started slamming the gas nozzle onto the gas pump repeatedly, police said. When an employee approached, the man started hitting the employee on the head with the nozzle, police said. A man and woman got out of the vehicle, and the second man pushed the employee while the woman yelled, police said.

The trio drove off, and the employee was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
