4 Teens Vandalized Multiple Properties In Smithtown: Police

The teenagers were arrested after police said they damaged the fences of at least two homes in the area.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Four teenagers who Suffolk police said vandalized multiple properties in Smithtown were arrested early Sunday.

A Lindron Avenue resident called officers to his home after he saw people damage the fence on his property before they drove away in a pickup truck at around 2 a.m., police said. Officers searched the area and found a 2015 Ram pickup truck with four teenagers inside, police said. The officers determined the teens were responsible for damaging the fences of at least two homes on Lindron Avenue, "and possibly many other residences in the area," police said.

Andrew Pipitone, 18, of Smithtown; Christopher Scott, 18, of Hauppauge; Brian Apulstille, 18, of Hauppauge; and Diego Silvera, 18, of Smithtown, were arrested and charged with two counts each of fourth-degree criminal mischief.

They were issued desk appearance tickets and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

Officers are asking anyone with information on the incidents, or anyone who believes they may have been victimized, to contact the Fourth Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8426.
