Kindergartners at Accompsett Elementary School in Smithtown recently took a trip back in time, celebrating the 50th day of school.
Some dressed in clothes from the 1950s and everyone learned about the history of the era while conducting lessons centered on the number 50, including counting to 50. The young students donned hats that read “50 Days Smarter” as they performed the hand jive as an homage to “Grease,” with teachers dressing as Pink Ladies and T-Birds. They also danced to traditional ’50s hits such as the twist and the bunny hop.
