6 Fire Departments Battle Massive Blaze At LI Home

The firefighters were working to put out the fire for nearly 2 hours in the cold early Thursday.

HEAD OF THE HARBOR, NY - A massive fire broke out at a home in Head of the Harbor early Thursday, according to the St. James Fire Department.

The blaze was reported at a home on Farm Road and Hilltop Court at about 12:35 a.m.

Responding units were able to access the driveway to easily get water on the fire.

The Nesconset, Stony Brook, Nissequogue, Smithtown and Centereach Fire Departments as well as the Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance all responded to the scene.

The fire was under control at 2:25 a.m.

The cause of the blaze is still unknown. The fire is under investigation at this time.

No injuries were reported.
