Amber Court Assisted Living of Smithtown Celebrates Grand Opening

Dignitaries and community leaders join Amber Court for ribbon-cutting ceremony

Amber Court Assisted Living of Smithtown recently celebrated its official grand opening in Nesconset, New York, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by a host of dignitaries and community leaders, including John Kennedy, Suffolk County Controller; Leslie Kennedy, Suffolk County Legislature; Rob Trotta, Suffolk County Legislature; Holly Rhodes-Teague, Director of the Office of the Aging; Smithtown Town Council members, Lisa Inzerillo and Lynn Nowick; Christine DeAugustino, President, Nesconset Chamber of Commerce; Vinny Puleo, Smithtown Town Clerk & Nesconset Chamber of Commerce Board Member; Norma Dispenza and Jim Bartunek, both Board Members with the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce; Rob Murphy, Town of Smithtown; and Gina Colletti, Co-Founder and Co-Chair, Suffolk County Coalition of Chambers. The three-story, 141-unit assisted living community broke ground in 2017. At the ceremony, Amber Court Executive Vice President Claire Bukzin-Hakim thanked everyone for making Amber Court feel so welcome.

“We are overjoyed to be part of this wonderful Smithtown community,” she observed. “Amber Court Assisted Living is a family business that values personal relationships. From the start, everyone we met with in Smithtown was enthusiastic about our dream to offer seniors state-of-the-art amenities in elegant yet affordable surroundings. Today, as we celebrate this newest member of the Amber Court family, I am proud to say that we are fully occupied.”

Hakim attributes the success of the new assisted living community to the services and lifestyle it offers residents, including a wellness suite, technology hub, fitness center, three separate dining rooms, a bistro, general store, and a cinema — all backed by quality onsite personal care as needed or as desired. “Add to this a robust activity schedule,” concludes Hakim, “and the result is a vastly improved quality of life for a parent or loved one whose current living arrangements are no longer safe or desirable.”
