SMITHTOWN, NY — A man robbed a Smithtown bank Thursday afternoon before fleeing on foot, Suffolk County police said.
The man entered Chase Bank at 705 Smithtown Bypass at about 4 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, police said.
The teller complied, and the man fled the bank with the money, according to police. Police described the robber only as a white man.
Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating.
