• Smithtown Kia technician workers vote to unionize despite thousands spent on alleged union-busting campaign (longislandpress.com) — Technicians at Smithtown Kia have voted 8–1 to join the United Auto Workers, citing concerns over pay, time off, health costs, and respect on the job. Union advocates say dealership management spent tens of thousands on outside labor consultants ahead of the vote, and bargaining sessions for the workers' first contract are expected to begin soon.
