Florence J. Tuccillo, 83, formerly of Smithtown

Florence J. Tuccillo, a longtime resident of Smithtown, died at her home in Boynton Beach, Florida on January 31. She was 83.

Mrs. Tuccillo was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Ralph and Carmella Aramanda. She worked for many years as a telephone operator and supervisor for New York Telephone, NYNEX and later AT&T, in Brooklyn, Smithtown, Huntington and later in Florida.

 She and her husband, Fred V. Tuccillo, made their home on Howell Drive in Smithtown before moving to Florida permanently some 30 years later. After retiring in Florida, Mrs. Tuccillo was active as a volunteer with the American Red Cross in Palm Beach County.

Mrs. Tuccillo was pre-deceased by her husband as well as her son, James A. Tuccillo. Her survivors include sons Frederick J. Tuccillo of Matawan, NJ, Daniel J. Tuccillo of Pittsburgh, PA and Gerard R. Tuccillo of Boynton Beach,  FL, as well as daughters-in-law Susan and Andrea Tuccillo, granddaughters Christa Tuccillo Law, Melinda Tuccillo Caycho and Elizabeth Tuccillo; grandsons Christopher, Matthew, Andrew and James Tuccillo and great-granddaughter Kendall Joy Law.

Graveside services and interment took place at Queen of Peace Cemetery in West Palm Beach. The family has requested that those wishing to remember Mrs. Tuccillo consider making donations to the American Red Cross www.redcross.org.
