The body of a missing kayaker has been recovered from Lake Ronkonkoma, Suffolk police confirmed Saturday afternoon.
Police had been searching for Kevin Conley, 40, of Sound Beach, the kayaker who went missing in the lake last week. Conley’s body was found at about noon Saturday by Suffolk County Police, with assistance from New York State Police troopers.

Police have said Conley was calling for help in the middle of the lake on the afternoon on Aug. 14 and several good Samaritans attempted to help but they lost sight of him.
In 2012, a father drowned in Lake Ronkonkoma while attempting to retrieve a remote controlled boat.
